Used Japanese Engines and Transmissions

Used transmissions and engines often come from Japan and other countries where by law cars must be replaced when they reach a certain mileage level or years in operation.  For example, standards in Japan are much higher than in the US and result in cars being taken out of the market in under four years.  This Japanese government mandated program helps stimulate the local economy by generating demand for new cars.  This results in large quantities of low mileage car engines and transmissions of great value.  Many of these low mileage engines and transmissions are then exported and distributed by companies here in the US market.

We are often asked about the reliability of used Japanese engines and transmissions and if it makes sense to invest in them to prolong the life of an aging car.  Clearly, the cost of replacing an engine or transmission is much less than the cost of buying a new car or even having an existing component rebuilt.  That alone is a major benefit to many car owners who just want to get more miles out of their vehicles.  Aside from the economic factors, if you are considering an engine or transmission replacement you must take into account two very important factors—the mechanical quality of the used component and the necessity to have it properly installed.  Undoubtedly, a low mileage used engine that has been thoroughly tested can extend the life of your car considerably.  No less important is the fact that all remanufactured engines be properly installed.

In addition to general automotive repair, JEMCO procures and installs quality used car engines and transmissions.  All engines and transmissions are low mileage automotive power-houses.  All our work is guaranteed.  Installation is included as part of the replacement service.  Check around and you will see that we also offer very competitive prices.

With all used car engines JEMCO provides rigorous testing and proper installation of all components.  Engine head, gasket, basic block, cylinder head, and all internal components are inspected and guaranteed to perform in the most satisfactory way.  Extreme care is placed to ensure no debris is reintroduced.  Gaskets, valves, cylinders, belts, hoses, water pump and all components installed by us are covered under our limited warranty.

Our shop is located in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area in the City of Oakland California. We are near Jack London Square, very close to all major freeway arteries. If your vehicle needs a
new engine or transmission please give us a call. Our ASE certified professional staff has the experience in providing and installing transmissions as well as engines.  All this is done in a timely manner and all our work is guaranteed.
